VitaCircle Privacy Policy

VitaCircle helps families keep track of a loved one’s medications. That is unusually personal information, so the short version is this: it stays on your device, and we do not sell it, mine it, or use it to advertise to you.
- Your medication list and dose history are stored on your device.
- Photos of labels are sent to Google’s Gemini API to be read, then discarded. We do not keep them.
- We never send medication names, conditions or diagnoses to analytics.
- We do not sell your data. There is no advertising in VitaCircle.
What we store, and where
The name of the person you care for, their medications, the schedule, and which doses were marked as taken are stored locally on your device. If you subscribe to a Family Plan and share a circle, the schedule and dose history are synced to the other members you invite — and to nobody else.
Photographs of medication labels
When you photograph a label, the image is sent to Google’s Gemini API, which reads the printed text and returns it as structured data. We do not store the photograph on our servers, and it is not used to train any model by us. Google’s handling of API data is governed by their terms; VitaCircle sends only the image you chose and no information identifying you.
Spoken check-ins
Speech is transcribed on your device wherever iOS supports on-device recognition. The resulting text is sent to the Gemini API to produce the short summary for your family. Audio recordings are never uploaded or stored by us.
Notifications
Dose reminders are scheduled locally on the device and work without a network connection. For family messages such as the weekly summary, we use OneSignal. The information attached to your notification profile is deliberately non-medical: how many medications are tracked, whether a plan is active, whether a circle is shared, and a broad adherence band. No medication name, condition or diagnosis ever leaves your device for this purpose.
Purchases
Subscriptions are processed by Apple and managed through RevenueCat. We never see or store your payment details.
Children
VitaCircle is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
Your choices
You can delete any medication, or delete the app, which removes the local data with it. To request deletion of anything held for a shared circle, email us and we will action it.
Not medical advice
VitaCircle organizes a prescription a doctor has already written. It does not diagnose, does not recommend dosages, and is not a medical device. Always follow the instructions of your doctor and pharmacist.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the date above and note the change in the app.
